Mole National Park is the largest and most developed of Ghana's seven recognized National parks and 21 protected areas. Mole is approximately 457,700 hectares in extent.
Mole National Park contains debatably four of the ''Big five" iconic African mammals. These include the African Elephant, the African Buffalo, Leopard, and an extant yet to be located, African Lion.
The National Park is home to 93 species of Mammals of which 20-30 may be encountered during the day. Those commonly sought after and seen include: African Elephants, several species of Antelope, Warthogs; Spotted Hyena, Olive Baboons.
Approximately 350 species of birds visit or reside within Mole. Mole is also home to 33 species of reptiles.
